  • "Ding a ling the Christmas Bell." I loathed that song, and my mother actually bought the 45 (yes, that's how old I am) because she thought it was sooooo keeeewwwwwt. We buried it in the couch cushions. "The Christmas Tree That Ran Away" (be glad you've never heard that one, too).

  • It's not relevant to this story. These people were innocent. Oh - and I'm tired of the insistence that a police officer/soldier/politician's etc. death is more tragic than anyone else's.

  • Not every adoptee is the product of unwed teens who romped in a back seat. You'd be surprised at what lame reasons CPS can use to terminate parental rights and destroy families, especially if the kids are very young, attractive and easily adoptable.

  • Angie doesn't speak for all adoptees - certainly not for me. I'm glad to see this. The system has tried to protect its financial interest in adoption by lying to birthparents, adoptive parents, and especially adoptees.  We have a right to know.

  • Parents can decline the testing or postpone it. The hospital, of course, does not inform them of this. Most parents are also not aware that the test samples are saved in many states and used for research, and their child's DNA is kept in a database.

  • Downtown Smithfield has damage, including to the hospital. Saunders Street from Raleigh going into Garner is heavily damaged. We got high wind and hail here....downtown Raleigh, where I work, took a direct hit, and I'm waiting to hear about my building.

  • Same as the ABC song.....knowing the SONG doesn't mean the kid "knows" his ABCs. Recognizing and memorizing cards is the same principle

  • I wish people would grow some brains. Bullying is NOT "just a part of life." It's CRIMINAL behavior that would earn jail time if committed by an adult. It is NOT "survival of the fittest" or "the strong preying up on the weak." If that were true, bullies would be the best and the brightest.
